Macho Burrito + Chile Relleno at Taqueria Mi Pueblo III in Novato, CA

This past weekend I got the opportunity to go up to Nor Cal where I got to meet up with old friends, snowboard on an empty mountain, and of course eat some really good food. Who knew that Monday mornings, typically dull, those dreaded back-to-the-grind-Mondays, would make a perfect day for empty slopes and gorgeous weather.

Cozy sweaters were a must for drinking a glass of Cabernet by the fireplace or for layering under my Penfield jacket (which was quickly purchased out of fear upon realizing that the temperature would drop to the negatives). I must give rave reviews about their line of outerwear, recommended to me by my cousin who had moved to New York last year, because I tend to get cold really easily and am known to quadruple-layer my clothes. But with just a tank and a sweater underneath, my Penfield jacket kept me really warm and it was easily stuffed into my backpack despite its deceivingly bulky exterior.

Near empty slopes made any spot the perfect place to just sit & take in the lakeside view.

Hot Pot was the perfect dinner to ward off -15 degree winter nights.
